St. Zosima Candle Factory is nestled in the hills of hills of Westchester County, about an hour and a half north of New York City. The Factory is located on the grounds of the Kursk Root Hermitage which has been the summer residence of the First Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad since the 1950's. Even though the Hermitage has monastic roots, the church currently functions as a parish attracting parishoners from Westchester County, the Hudson Valley and even Connecticut.
Fr. Alexander Botchagow is the on-site Manager of the Candle Factory. He employs parishoners from the Kursk Root Hermitage Parish to help with production of candles. Many of the workers live on-site in the "monastic dwellings" that are provided for their use while they work at the factory.
